Dan Calinescu
CEO & Co-Founder

Dan is a technology visionary who has been around in the mobile industry for a decade. Dan held a number of technical and leadership roles at various Canadian start-ups, most recently as Director of Development and Co-Founder at Five Mobile Inc. (Toronto, ON) where he was instrumental in delivering high-quality mobile apps for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Java ME platforms. Before co-founding Five Mobile, Dan was Product Development Lead at Tira Wireless Inc. (Toronto, ON). Dan has also worked for Celestica Inc. as an telecommunications engineering associate. Dan had several crash and burns as an entrepreneur which only made him stronger and hungrier to chase the dream. Dan is fluent in English, French and Romanian. Dan holds an Honours B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, with specialization in Software Engineering, as well as a Minor in French Studies.

Matt Sampalean
Managing Partner & Co-Founder

Having been hooked to gadgets and computers at an early age, Matt comes from a sales background, with professional experience in the Travel industry as well as in Property Management. Never more than 3 feet from his BlackBerry, and with his headphones hooked into an iPod Touch, apps are old news – creating them alongside the dev team is the exciting part though. Matt is a social media whiz kid who continuously keeps his ear to the ground to make sure he’s on top of the latest mobile trends out there. He is passionate about social entrepreneurship and in his spare time he dreams up new ways to make the world a better place for the rest of us. Matt is fluent in English, French, Romanian and can get by in Spanish. Matt graduated from York University with a Billingual B.A in Political Science.
